Sentarse Means Sit is a snapshot in the life of "Big Sister".

The short story, as told through Big Sister's eyes, describes how she and her Little Brother get their puppy, Smokey. Big Sister and Little Brother believe Smokey is the dumbest dog they have ever seen, but later learn that Smokey is not dumb at all.  After giving up Smokey and later making a commitment to do a better job with Smokey, Big Sister and her Little Brother understand the true meaning of acceptance and friendship.

The story encourages the young reader to challenge how he perceives and judges others. The book closes with both discussion questions and life lessons for the reader. The discussion questions are meant to aid the reader's understanding of the story. Adults are encouraged to guide younger readers through the discussion questions.

Educate your children to self-control, to the habit of holding passion and prejudice and evil tendencies subject to an upright and reasoning will, and you have done much to abolish misery from their future and crimes from society.
